Shenzhen Metro-The Project for Earthing Resistance Unit of the Neutral Point

Project Overview:

Shenzhen Metro is set with the architectural complex, such as main substation, car depot, and comprehensive maintenance base and control center. The electrical system includes the main substation system specially used by 110 kV metro, 35 kV power supply system; 1500V DC power supply system etc, the earthing resistance unit of neutral point is mainly used for resistance earthing of LV side of 110 kV main substations and the neutral point of 35 kV systems.

Application Range:

It is applicable to the power distribution network of system with high capacitance current to ground and mainly the cable-circuit.

Application Principles:

Using energy consumption and damping effect of the resistance to reduce the system’s arc-light earthing, resonance and switching overvoltage level.

Advantages of the neutral point resistance earthing:

●It can effectively limit various overvoltage of the system; especially limit the overvoltage level of intermittent arc-light earthing.

●The large earthing failure current is adopted to solve the difficulties in line selection, so that the line can be accurately and rapidly selected, to remove fault circuit.

Shenzhen Metro-The Project for Braking Resistance

Project Overview:

The braking resistance device has been adopted by No.1 line project, No.3 line project, No. 11 line project, and No.9 line project of Shenzhen Metro, No.2 line of Nanning Metro and No.12 line of Shanghai Metro for the electric braking when the vehicles are running.

Application Range:

It is applicable to the braking resistance unit of the metro electrical traction system.

Basic Functions of the Braking Resistance:

●When the metro vehicles run down the slope or other occasions need to decelerate, motor on the vehicles stops obtaining electricity from the power grid, at this time, the motor becomes a power generator, during power generating process, the motor will produce counter torque to decelerate the train, and the electricity generated that hasn’t been absorbed by the power grid will be turned into thermal energy by the braking resistance;

●When the metro vehicles are running, sometimes the DC voltage may rise, in order to prevent the voltage-rise from exceeding allowable value; the braking resistance shall be adopted to reduce corresponding overvoltage.

Shenzhen Metro-The Project for Redundancy Control of the Metro's Barrier Door

Background of the Project:

The metro’s Barrier Door is used to separate the passengers from the train and track to provide safe barrier for the passengers. PEDC (The Controller of the Barrier Door Unit) is the gate’s key control part, once the failure occurs it can resist the train to enter the station normally, lock the signal, resulting in delay, and it can directly affect normal arrival of the train. In the control system of existing metro Barrier Door, for costs, most of PEDCs are equipped with single equipment, when PEDC can’t work normally, the control of Barrier Door shall be operated manually, which is easy to cause delay and late of the train.

Markets and Application Range of the Project:

In the metro industry, the failure rate of PEDC is high, especially for the lines with the operation time over ten years, the redundancy control system of FM200M Barrier Door can run automatically, which can significantly improve the train’s on-time rate and reduce the costs.
